This is the favorite Bible verse of many because they somehow think it grants them license to ignore all those other\u00a0 Bible verses.\u00a0 You know. The ones that condemn sin. The\u00a0 verse about judging gets taken out of context all too frequently.\u00a0 The Bible actually commands us to make judgments. (1 Cor 5) and Jesus was not forbidding the making of a judgment. He was forbidding self righteous hypocrites who saw another person\u2019s sin but did not see their own.\u00a0 If we would judge our own sin, we could also judge someone else\u2019s.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother\u2019s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, \u2018Let me take the speck out of your eye,\u2019 when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother\u2019s eye.”<\/p>\n
See?\u00a0 We are allowed t<\/em>o remove the speck from our brother\u2019s eye.
