Guest Jim Berrier joins Bob for a discussion about illogical power hungry policies at the national, state, county, and city level.
Even in Jim’s home state of Texas,( known for being conservative and very adherent to the U.S. Constitution) we are seeing draconian measures from mayors and judges in cities such as Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
Specific examples:
-San Antonio passes a “hate speech” resolution regarding usage of the title, “Chinese Virus.”
-A salon owner in Dallas who opened up business ahead of “lockdown reopening schedules” is arrested, taken to court, and ordered by a judge to confess to being “selfish.” She was thrown in jail for telling the judge that she did not consider it selfish to feed her children. To the credit of the Texas Governor Abbot and the Texas state Supreme Court, her release from jail was ordered. Still, Governor Abbot (like so many other governors) had issued stay-at-home orders in the first place, and this, once again, is one of our union’s most conservative states.
Also:
-Bob opens the program warning that even after governors start giving in to the many protests going on in California and other states, regulations such as “social distancing” are here to stay unless people wake up and stop being complacent.
Bible:
-Does the Bible issue any warnings about government overreach? Bob offers an interesting answer from the book of 1 Samuel.
