Easter Sunday: Joyous Celebration Yet Sobering Warning

Unusual in its content, considering this program broadcast on Easter Sunday….

Bob’s guest is Dr. Everett Piper,  author, columnist, and conservative commentator. Dr. Piper was President of Oklahoma Wesleyan University from 2002-2019. His books include, Why I am a Liberal and Other Conservative Ideas and Not a Day Care: The Devastating Consequences of Abandoning Truth. He also contributes articles to The Washington Times.

Bob and Dr. Piper discuss (with detail and example) the many unfair, accusatory reactions (from Christian and secular alike) toward any who would dare question a government shutting down  the country because of a virus. While both Bob and Dr. Piper agree that the COVID19 threat is real, and sensible precautions should be taken, the consequences of nation-wide over reaction is critically challenged.  Of special concern is the suspension of constitutional rights, both for Christians and other citizens. Although documented incidents are not yet universal, happening only in certain states and/or cities, such reports are nevertheless chilling;  they should concern anyone protective of the First Amendment.

The majority of the show is dedicated to this interview. It takes up about one-third of the program and airs with only one break.

Also:

-Bob’s opening monologue, beginning with an explanation of why such a heavy topic was chosen for an Easter show, namely, a need to seize what moments we can WHILE we can.

-Special Easter celebration through music.

-Brief but important points about the resurrection of Christ and how one might receive the forgiveness of Christ.
