From Bob Siegel (as spoken on this broadcast)
“I’m about to talk with you very candidly, not only about the coronavirus pandemic, but the panic coming with this pandemic.
In times like these, there are two extremes we want to avoid: You’ll hear people saying things to you from both sides. As is often the case in life, when we hear two extreme points of view, the truth is usually somewhere in the middle.
You don’t want to listen to anyone who shines this thing off, who ignores the warnings of health officials, and acts like nothing serious is going on. It’s very serious! It’s life threatening!
On the other hand, we don’t want to overreact to the point where we exaggerate the situation, creating more of a problem than what truly exists, and perhaps surrendering so much power to the government that we lose our constitutional freedoms. What I hope to do today, is strike some balance.
I will probably fall short. But that will be my attempt.”
