Note: This was originally a Facebook post which I put up at around 2:30 in the morning. When I have trouble sleeping, I watch some TV and that helps me sleep. Not so with this tragic news:

 

 

Woke up to the horrible news from Brussels. Difficult to predict when a terrorist attack will happen. Unfortunately, it is much easier to predict what the response of our president, “the leader of the free world” will be.

Talking points warming up in the bull pen:

1) This makes the case for more gun control legislation. Never mind that the attack in this case was carried out by explosions with one suicide bomber already established.

2) Remember, this attack has absolutely, positively NOTHING to to with Islam.

3) Even if an organization claiming to be Jihadist takes responsibility, they are not true Muslims. Just a handful of nut cases who have hijacked an otherwise peaceful religion.

4) Remember: Christians did the same things back during the Crusades.

You don’t think our president will say this? With all my heart I hope you are right and I am wrong. Still…If I were a betting man, I would be forced to not put my money on my hopes. One can only experience Groundhog Day so many times before the future is easy to predict.
