Censorship in Film, Television and Books

Film critic Mark Bubien fills in for Bob and talks about classic pieces of literature that were banned in their time due to “offensive” elements which ignored the ground breaking message. Books include  To Kill A Mockingbird, and more recent titles such as  Hunger Games and the Harry Potter series.

Television shows discussed are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the animated My Little Pony which became subject to controversy due to a name for one beloved character.

Mark also talks about Walt Disney Picture’s self ban on their film Song 0f the South.

Other films include Star Wars (changed and altered by George Lucas himself) Clockwork Orange and Eyes Wide Shut.
