Well, they did it again. The United Nations allowed the venom filled reptilian, Ahmadinnejad to address the general assembly. This time, he claimed that 9/11 was an inside job, not done by Al-Qaeda.(Al Qaeda, incidentally, boastfully confessed long ago, promising even more terrorist attacks if the United States does not convert to Islam.) American and British representatives walked out in the middle of the cheery, smiling speech. President Obama called the remarks “hateful” and yet this same Obama had just offered once again to meet with the Iranian president for diplomatic talks, and frankly, Ahmadinnejad said nothing more outrageous than previous rhetoric such as his insistence that the holocaust never took place or his plans to destroy both Israel and America.
Why do we go through this nonsense every year? Why is this man who swears he will destroy the United States allowed in the United States? Or, if we choose to let him come, why not merely save the world a lot of hardship, slap handcuffs on the smug, talkative chap, and stick him in a padded cell the rest of his life? It might just ward of World War Three and save billions of lives. Oh wait! That would never work! America would come across as intolerant, peace loving countries like Syria would be disappointed, strong countries of backbone like France and Sweden would snub their noses, champions of virtue like Hugo Chavez, and Fidel Castro would lecture us, and the New York Times editorial page would be none too happy either.
This is Bob Siegel, making the obvious, obvious.
