Iran and the United Nations

September 07, 2010

Today, many headlines read, “Iran Says It Has Right To Bar U.N. Inspectors.”

Question: What the heck difference does any of this make any more? Supposing Iran broke tradition and allowed an honest inspection? Supposing it was discovered that their nuclear weapons capability is right around the corner instead of a long, five minute drive down the block like we thought? Just what exactly would the U.N. do about it?  I’m not asking what they would say about it. What would they do?

Since we already know the answer to the question, we may as well not waste any more valueble time discussing it. The U.N. has already sucked enough oxygen out of the room.
