Religious Freedom? Nice Try, Bloomberg.

Mayor Bloomberg was recently reminded that the Imam slated to head the approved Ground Zero  mosque is Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who has gone on record to claim that the September 11th attack was not the work of Muslims. Indeed, he explained to CNN that the United States was “an accessory to the crime” and  that Usama bin Laden was “made in the United States.” Rauf is also unwilling to call Hamas a terrorist organization because the whole phenomenon of terrorism is “complicated.”

Bloomberg’s response?  It is not his place to interfere with what is being taught inside a mosque since it falls under the heading of religious freedom.

Religious freedom eh? I wonder if Bloomberg would have justified slavery in the south because certain churches taught that slavery was OK. As a strong champion of religious rights, let me go on record to say that not everything is covered under religious freedom. Rauf’s comments are political, dangerous, and seditious. They are not merely “religious.”

Bloomberg also delivered a patronizing speech, saying  “Of course, it is fair to ask the organizers of the mosque to show some special sensitivity to the situation, and in fact their plan envisions reaching beyond their walls and building an interfaith community. But doing so, it is my hope that the mosque will help to bring our city even closer together, and help repudiate the false and repugnant idea that the attacks of 9/11 were in any ways consistent with Islam.”

Mayor Bloomberg, what color is the sky in your world?  The 9/11 attacks were one hundred percent consistent with Islam and this is apparent to anybody who has read the Koran or studied the history of a religion which builds shrines on the sites of military victory. As you pat yourself on the back for being such a sensitive, Politically Correct man, do you have any idea how self-righteous, condescending, and embarressing you sound? The Muslim terrorists hold a warm place in their hearts for people like you:  To them you are a “Useful idiot.”
