Have you ever noticed that the best way to hear honest feedback about your appearance is to change your appearance?

“Have you lost weight? You sure have lost weight!  Wow!  No kidding. You look terrific!  You looked like a real tub of lard before. I mean, cars couldn’t even drive around you. They didn’t have enough gas.”

People have this uncanny ability to give insults, all the while patting themselves on the back for the encouragement they think they’re offering.
