Somewhere Between Germany, Jerusalem and Rome

The Story Of Martin Luther

Humorous and dramatic, this play chronicles the life of Martin Luther, from his youthful Augustinian vows, to his genuine conversion, to his challenging of papal authority that started the Protestant Reformation. An interesting twist in the plot also explores his marriage to the former nun, Katherine Von Bora and his unusual relationship with the Jews. Starting out as their defender, Luther turns on them late in life.

In Act One, Luther seems like a hero. In Act Two, his struggles with evil seem to wane. The audience is left with the portrait of a genuine human being with all his faults and all his virtues.
